Acadia University

Acadia University, nestled in the heart of the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, complements the landscape of over 200 years of farming. One of only a handful of small Universities remaining in Canada, it's student-athlete population is nearly 10% of the insitutions enrolment.

Acadia offers student-athletes an opporunity to grow as a person by combining academics, athletics and community engagement like no other university in Canada. With 11 varsity status programs including men's hockey, football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, women's rugby, women's cross country and men's and women's swimming, the support by the student body, alumni, faculty and staff and community is second to none.

Acadia University has called the small but elegant town of Wolfville home since the institution's inception in 1838. Originally known as Mud Creek,the Town of Wolfville got its name in 1830 when two granddaughters of Judge Elisha DeWolfe convinced their postmaster uncle that a more suitable name was needed. The villagers chose the name Wolfville for their town. Today beautiful elm trees, manicured lawns, grand century old homes and a collection of speciality shops and services guide visitors down Wolfville's Main Street.

There are 12 residence buildings in the campus. Almost half of the students live on campus. It provides the students Internet, kitchen, furniture, local telephone, in-house laundry and etc.
