Entry Requirements

  • Experience as an editor or substantial experience as a professional assistant editor in industry.
  • Applicants will need a relevant tertiary qualification, and/or appropriate experience at an equivalent level deemed to equate to Australian Qualifications Framework Level 7.
  • A working knowledge of relevant software applications, for example Avid; Final Cut Pro; and Premiere Pro.
  • Please provide a one-page list of your achievements, educational qualifications and work experience. P
  • Review one of the three clips: Emily, Cupid or Inferno, and explain how editing enhances or impacts the sequence (max. 300 words)

Curriculum

Subject 1: Editing Principles
The subject aims to develop the student’s knowledge of editing principles to explain the role of editing and its relationship with key collaborators.

Subject 2: Creative Editing Techniques
The subject aims to develop the student’s ability to find creative solutions to edit image, sound and music effectively.

Subject 3: Editing Practice
The subject aims to give students a comprehensive knowledge of the technical requirements of the editing workflow.
