Entry Requirements

  • GCSE: For all applicants, Grade C or above, or Grade 4 under newly reformed GCSE grading, in English Language, Mathematics and Science, or equivalent.
  • A-level subjects: No specific subjects required. Grade B or above in at least one A2 subject. 120 points must come from A2 subjects or equivalent. Points from A-Level General Studies and AS-Level subjects (not taken onto full A-Level) can be included towards overall tariff. You must have a minimum of two A-Levels.
  • EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: No specific subjects required.
  • Access: Achievement of the Access to HE Diploma; to include 15 level 3 credits at distinction and 15 level 3 credits at merit.
  • Baccalaureate IB: A minimum grade of 6 in a higher level subject.

Foundation year (Year zero)

Year one

You will be introduced to applied psychology and professional skills and study the following compulsory modules:

  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Research Design and Analysis 1
  • Psychology in Action
  • Critical Thinking
  • Interpersonal Psychology

Year two

To gain work experience and apply psychological principles in real-world settings, you will undertake a work-based learning project supervised by a member of academic staff.

Final year

You will have the opportunity to select from a wide range of specialist topic modules that suits your interests while undertaking an independent research project of their choice supervised by a member of the academic staff.
