DISTED College

Founded in 1985, DISTED College is Penang’s very first private tertiary institution that is known as a premier not-for-profit private college and is currently owned by the Wawasan Education Foundation. DISTED aims at being strongly committed to offering quality education and training to students for them to serve the needs of the industry and community.

DISTED College offers an impressive range of quality industry-relevant programmes for students to choose from, and this includes Pre-University level to Bachelor Degrees and even Professional Qualifications in Business, Hospitality, Psychology, Computing & IT, Multimedia, and Accounting. With its growing reputation, DISTED College is recognized as a provider of high-quality programmes and brilliant education experience with 5-Star accolades awarded by the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for Private Colleges (MyQUEST) 2014/2015 that was conducted by the Ministry of Education.

Students are provided with accommodation at a 5-storey students' residence at King Street in Penang. Some of the facilities included are:

• Kitchen utilities - refrigerator, laundry, cooking equipment

Students' safety is put into priority by the building management and in-house security guards

Daily transportation to the college is arranged for the students staying in the off-campus housing at no extra cost.

The hostel rates per person per month are:

• Triple sharing room (double decker bed) - RM508.80
  • Female students only
• Triple sharing room (single bed) - RM583.00
• Twin sharing room - RM689.00

Shuttle services are provided to students at no extra cost from Monday to Fridays depending on schedule. 

DISTED College comprises of 2 campuses throughout Penang:

1. The DISTED Yeap Chor Ee Campus, Macalister Road houses
   • Equipped with modern teaching and learning facilities -  learning resource centre, computer labs, science labs, engineering labs, and cafeteria.

2. The DISTED School of Hospitality Campus, Bangunan Wawasan on China Street Ghaut
   • Equipped with modern classroom learning facilities & practical learning sessions
   • Provides facilities – restaurant, food production kitchen, bakery kitchen, bakery shop, demo kitchen cum lecturer theatre, housekeeping mock-up room library and computer lab.
