BA (Hons) English Language and Communication
About
The BA (Hons) English Language and Communication (ELC) programme is designed to equip students who do not speak English as a first language with advanced communication skills for professional employment in English as a Second Language (ESL). It enables students learning English as a second or additional (foreign) language to develop graduate-level communicative competence and use English effectively in diverse contexts.
With a strong focus on practical applications, the programme links theory to practice through critical reflection, fostering both academic knowledge and work-related skills. Observation, work experience through Co-Operative courses, and project-based inquiry are integral to the learning process, enhancing graduate employability in response to regional workforce demands.
