Master of Medical Science in Public Health
About
Public health is the science of protecting, promoting, and improving community health. This is achieved through education, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, disease detection and prevention, response to infectious diseases, and research on disease and injury prevention. The challenges posed by the Covid-19 outbreak have highlighted the critical need for qualified public health professionals to navigate complex health crises worldwide. Their expertise is essential in addressing emerging public health threats and implementing effective health policies.
Recognizing this need, UTAR has developed a Master of Medical Science in Public Health program to equip graduates with the analytical skills necessary to address public health concerns. The program also emphasizes the importance of conducting ethical and evidence-based research, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to contribute to the field upon completion of their studies.
