Entry Requirements
The University offers as its normal entry routes:
- entry at Level 1, mainly for students with Scottish Highers (or similar)
- entry at Level 2, mainly for students with A-levels (or similar).
There is nevertheless considerable flexibility, depending on the level of qualifications, for entrants with A-levels to opt to enter at Level 1 and for Scottish students to enter at Level 2. Direct entry into Level 3 is also possible for students who already have certain HE qualifications.
Level 1 entry
- Highers: BBBBC or AAAB to include Mathematics (minimum at B)
- A-Levels: ABC or BBB to include Mathematics at B
- Int. Baccalaureate: 31 points to include 5 in Higher Level Mathematics
- Scottish Baccalaureate: Pass including (Advanced Higher) Mathematics
Level 2 entry
- A-Levels: ABB with at least Grade B in mathematics.
- Advanced Highers: BB plus AAAB at Higher to include Mathematics at Advanced Higher
- HNC: A in graded unit with at least SCQF level 7 or NQF level 4 in a relevant mathematics course.
- Int. Baccalaureate: 35 points including 6 in Higher Level Mathematics
- Scottish Baccalaureate: Distinction including (Advanced Higher) Mathematics
Level 3 entry
- HND: AB in graded units with A in final graded unit and at least SCQF level 7 or NQF level 4 in a relevant mathematics course.
Additional information: For all years, applications are welcomed from holders of non-school qualifications and mature candidates. All EU and overseas candidates will require an IELTS overall grade 6.0 (or equivalent) with no component lower than 5.5 or equivalent.
